T Backer Fund, Inc. has been in existence since 1988, a 501(c)3 private foundation serving charities in community services, educational, research, and other philanthropic areas. One important focus of our work is expanding programs for kids K–12 in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). We encourage and believe in hands-on activities involving building, experimenting, or fixing physical objects.
Purely computer or online activities are not a priority for us. Programming, video gaming, and the like are generally not included under this grant program.

At T Backer Fund, we’re passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and creative thinkers through hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). We know that real discovery doesn’t just happen on a screen—it happens when kids roll up their sleeves, ask questions, build, test, and try again.
We’re looking to partner with schools, makerspaces, libraries, and community centers that share our belief in the power of active, project-based learning. Whether it’s a weekend robotics club, a summer science camp, or a classroom full of young inventors building bridges from popsicle sticks, these are the experiences that light the spark of curiosity and build lasting skills.
To support this kind of learning, we offer funding and resources to help you launch or grow hands-on STEM programs in your community. We’re especially interested in reaching kids who might not otherwise have access to these kinds of opportunities—because talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.
If you’re creating spaces where kids can experiment, explore, and imagine, we want to hear from you. Together, we can empower the next generation to become the thinkers, builders, and problem-solvers of tomorrow.
GRANTS
Grant Requirements
01
Must be a 501(c)3 Public Charity, listed on the IRS Exempt organization database
02
Must have been in operation for at least 2 years
03
Grants can be for up to $5000, to cover activities for up to 12 months
04
Will fund direct costs to run the specified program
05
T Backer Fund will decide in its sole discretion which, if any, grants to award. Its decision is final.
06
With 60 days of completion, no later than 14 months after grant, submit a brief report on the activity
07
Grantee is fully responsible for complying with all applicable Federal, State or local laws and regulations.
